𝗩𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗻𝘁'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩

“Finally who din aagya jiska hame itne samay se intezar that" I cheered, it was finally the day when we'll be the captains and we'll get all the powers which can save us from anything.

“Why are you saying like you're going to bully everyone" Siddharth said, “Aaj toh bada achcha lag raha hai chikne” I teased him and he just rolled his eyes.

We were well dressed in neat and clean uniform because tomorrow our class teacher gave us a one hour long lecture about how we'll be idols of the children .

Seriously! Idol?

We didn't have any practice because of the investiture ceremony and believe me it was the best thing like my body was going to break up with me if I didn't have any one day leave.

By that time everyone was coming and Kriyansh had also arrived by now. Today it seems like everyone bathed because they looked like students for the first time .

“Hi babygirl, how are you?” I waved at Kriyansh giving him a side hug, “Hi meri jaan aaj to handsome lag raha hai” Kriyansh hugged back, “yes, for you” I teased him.

“Bas bhai bas, kya harkate hai ye” Siddharth commented from behind. “Love language” Kriyansh said.

“Kuch zyada nahi ho raha” He asked, judging us, “ye to bohot kam hai, abhi to bohot kuch hai” Kriyansh replied back.

Sometimes I question myself.

After this, we went to the assembly hall where the ceremony was taking place.

I am excited as hell.

“So what do you think you're going to become?” I asked them. “Jis hisaab se interview hua hai uss hisab se to hum sweeper bhi na bane” Kriyansh replied, I agree with him. They asked such difficult and scary questions like they're electing the Prime minister.

“I don't think I'll be any,” Sidharth answered. “Bhai esa ho hi nahi sakta” Kri said to him. There is no chance for me to become a captain but Siddharth is legit teacher's favourite, if they didn't select him then who'll they select.

After some time, 11th and 12th students from secondary assembled at a pattern they taught us yesterday and ahead of us were captains of the Primary section.

Four rows were divided behind the school captains which were houses, Shivaji (red) , Ashoka (green) , Tagore (blue) and Raman  (yellow) .

After a few minutes the ceremony started with our principal's 2 minute speech and we still clapped even after not understanding anything.

The teacher called out the school captains, vice captains, head girl, head boy and other captains other than house captain.

Sidharth became school captain, which is the bestest choice the principal ever made. I can see the quality and confidence in my sweetheart. On the other hand Kriyansh became the school's Sports captain which is another good choice.

My hands nearly hurt by clapping so hard for my sweet hearts. Jug jug jeeyo mere laalo. Kriyansh winked from the stage to me and I gave him a flying kiss back. My baby girl loves me.

𝗘𝘀𝗵𝘃𝗶𝗸𝗮'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩

How dare he.

“Ohooo did he just winked at you” Arvith teased me, poking my shoulder. “Shut up” I whispered- yelled at him.

“Look how he's admiring you” Amyshka joined him, these guys. Even though I don't like him, I still get butterflies in my stomach. Whyyy.

“Chup raho” I said irritatingly and diverted my gaze from him and the stage. Pradyumna and Shresht were chosen as the school's cca (co curriculum activities) captain boy and School's vice captain boy.

Shresht as vice captain of school is such a good thing, at least we have powerful people in our friend group.

After a few minutes of their pledge it was house announcement time and the way my heart was beating so fast, I convinced myself that even if I didn't become captain. It's okay. But still I was feeling so so much.

The teacher announced  Arvith's  name as vice captain of Tagore house and the way I clapped so hard. He totally deserves this, I'm damn sure he'll be the cool captain of Tagore.

Amyshka and I waved at him and he grinned from there, waving back. Time passed and everyone's name was announced. Amyshka was chosen as School's Discipline captain and then I heard my name.

Seriously man I'm a captain now, for some seconds I was still but then the person behind me poked my hand and I went straight to the stage.

I am a captain now!!!!

As I reached that Kriyansh gave me a side eye with a smirk.

Chaahta kya hai mujhse!

Ignoring that, I went near the school and the house master of Ashoka attached the badge to my green tshirt ,near the school. I smiled back and said “thank you” And the flashback of the interview jumped against my eyes….

“𝘚𝘰 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘶𝘵𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵” 𝘝𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘢𝘮 𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘦𝘥, 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘵.

𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘐 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥. 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴. 𝘐 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭y.

I recalled everything and got back to reality, a feeling of emotion waved through me and my eyes got watery out of happiness? I guess. I looked around to get myself back properly and then I realized that everyone from our friend group is standing here with badges on their t-shirts.

I titled a little then my eyes fell on the person who's wearing the “school sport's captain” badge, attitude like he's prime minister of the country and smiling like he owns Ambani.

I came to realize today that his name is Kriyansh Bedi and he's a national level school player. That's why he's famous or well known.

I didn't realize that I was staring at him until he looked at me and HE WINKED AGAIN.

How dare he!

I just looked away, I can't handle this vampire who made my blood boil from far. The vampire is perfect for him, unpredictable and noisy. Immediating. Basically a fool who sucks my blood from far away.

I was thinking about something and teachers were calling everyone one by one to give badges and clicking photos, the main part.

Amyshka was standing beside me, looking at her chest, admiring the shining thing she just got. It was clear from her expression how happy she's.

My Shayla.

“Eshvika” Someone called me, I looked at it as one of that vampire's friends. How he knows my name, “yes” I replied. He signalled towards the left , I turned my head there and it was Arvith. Thank god. I nearly thought that it's that ullu again.

He's my senior, I shouldn't say that to him. But he deserves that. I passed a smile to him and he made a beautiful gesture with his fingers.

Aww.

I smiled at him in response and then he whispered “congratulations” Which I didn't hear but definitely read his lips right away.

I opened my mouth to say thank you but before that someone falled over me and dang. I WAS ON FLOOR.

And the way my back hurt.

𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩

“KASHVI”

I shouted and kneeled down beside her, and suddenly the environment changed into loud whispers.

A small squeak came and I looked there. It was Eshvika who was now gotten up by her friends . The teachers ran and I tapped her cheek a few times.

“Kashvi” I muttered and took her wrist into mine . “Ye  school captain” From the crowd where people were muttering anything, a loud voice came and whoever it was , I'll not leave him.

The teachers took her to the nearest bench behind the stage and I just went with them. There's no way I'll leave her alone.

I hope nothing happens to you.

After a few minutes she was laid down on one of the benches and the nurse mam was sprinkling water over her face to get her in her senses.

Common kashi, get up.

“Listen, keep your eyes on her, I am coming with some ors” The teacher said to me and I nodded in agreement.

She left and my eyes were fixed on her, tension eating me up and I can't even tell in clear words how I was feeling.

I prayed and rubbed her wrist a little, she stirred a little and her class teacher was nearby but she couldn't see her from the angle so I didn't remove my hands.

I don't want to leave her hands.

She opened her eyes a little and finally, meri jaan main jaan aayi. “How are you feeling?” I asked softly, she scrunched her nose and closed her eyes tightly.

Maybe the sudden lighting was irritating her. I blocked the light and changed my seat so that there'll be no ray on her face, she then opened her eyes and nodded. “I'm feeling better” She said, her voice barely audible.

“Were you sick or just suddenly fell?” I questioned her, keeping my voice slow and low. She tried getting up and taking the stand by grabbing my hand.

“I-uh just… I was sick” She answered, and sat up adjusting her dress. “Fir school kyu aayi tum?” I asked her. More like scolding softly.

“Cerem-uh…I” She stopped before finishing, looking down to the floor. “It's ok, now take some rest. You're not a robot” I comforted her and she smiled in agreement.

The ceremony ended in a few minutes and I was still sitting near her, making sure she was well or not. The principal announced games for the primary students as only 2 periods were left until school got over.

By now Kriyansh and Vedant were also here offering her water and their lunch, and I was just there at a distance.

No one from her class came to check on her, she had friends so now where are they! Now I get why she doesn't go out of class and talk a little , because no one was there to listen.

I just want to be with her from now on, I can't see her alone. It seems depressing to me.

“Siddharth!” she called out.

“Yes”

“Can you give me the physics notes, actually I forgot to ask you this but I wanted it from the very start..” She said looking here and there but not at me.

“Oh yeah, sure”

“Thank you”

The school got over and we went to our homes, currently I was busy sending PDFs to her, we exchanged phone numbers at school.

“Are you free or not?” A message popped up at my notification bar, I clicked into it. It was Vedant.

“I'm a little busy, we can talk later” I texted back.

“You're busy? For me? Wah shampy wah” He answered back and I just removed it all.

Yes, I'm busy now. I snorted. Staying busy is a person's choice. How can someone interfere in it?

Guys I first thought to name the houses ruby, emerald, gold and sapphire but then I thought that the kind of fun I want to add will be missed  (for example, houses can tease calling each other like, tagore chappal chor 😭 Or shivaji sadi hui bhaji 😭 ) that used to happen in my previous school so I thought I would add it. Please let me know if it's okay or I should change be

cause both names for me are ok ok and if you have any suggestions then let me know. I just don't know if it would be ok to read or not.
